Sorry if this is a bad question but I have been trying to get this to work for several hours to no avail. The Mac is using macOS 11.5.2 (20G95) with kernel version Darwin 20.6.0. My pi is running the most recent versoin of Raspbian server (no graphical environment). I feel like my problem has something to do with not being able to authenticate as my remote user.

Which prompted me for a password and then returned: lpadmin: Forbidden Ipp://, , ip-address:port, /printer/name_of_printer into the address feild of this configuration window: printer config screen I wasn't sure what to but into queue. For the HP Printers we just use the option 'Use Generic PostScript'.

I believe it is using Bonjour to add the device.

We typically install the printer drivers of the Sharp MFPs, then add the Printer through the network. Pretty much any frame can be used to learn the MAC address except for CDP, LLDP, STP, and DTP. Create a network folder from a Mac, and then use the printer control panel to save scans to the folder. When you enable MAB on a switchport, the switch drops all drops all frames except for the first frame to learn the MAC address. I am trying to set up a CUPS print server on a raspberrypi on my LAN to enable wireless printing to my Brother printer. If you can’t use 802.1X but still want to secure your switch ports somehow, you can use MAC Authentication Bypass (MAB).
